- Do NOT shave right before a pedicure
- DO shave against the grain on your legs
- Do NOT use Body washes or soap when shaving
- DO exfoliate your skin prior to shaving. This can reduce the chances of ingrown hairs.
- DO change your blade every 5-7 shaves.
- DO shave with the grain of your hair for areas like the bikini line. This can reduce the likelihood of ingrown hairs
- Do NOT apply too much pressure when shaving. You can actually remove some of the top layers of your skin.
- DO remove all deodorant when preparing for an underarm shave. This keeps the surface of the skin smooth and allows for a closer shave. Underarm hair can grow in multiple directions, so DO change your shaving direction for a closer underarm shave.
- DO use a moisturizer on your damp skin immediately after shaving. This can seal in the moisture to your skin allowing for a healthy skin barrier!
- DO use a dime sized amount of 1% over the coutner hydrocortisone cream with a rich moisturizer to reduce inflammation and protect the skin barrier; especially if you have sensitive skin
